Copenhagen Marriott Hotel Overview

First Impressions

Walking into the Copenhagen Marriott Hotel feels like stepping into modern Scandinavian elegance — and I mean that in the best possible way. This five-star property sits right on Kalvebod Brygge, which honestly gives you some of the most stunning waterfront views I’ve seen in Copenhagen. The lobby has that sleek Danish design you’d expect, but it’s warm rather than cold, if you know what I mean. You can actually see the harbor from the moment you walk in, and there’s something about that immediate connection to the water that just sets the tone for your entire stay.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Tivoli Gardens and the Central Station, but you’re not dealing with all the tourist chaos right outside your door. The Kalvebod Brygge area has this perfect balance where you feel like you’re in the heart of things without being overwhelmed. Couples seem to really get this location (they rate it 8.7, which honestly makes sense), and I think it’s because you can easily stroll along the waterfront in the evenings. The nearby Islands Brygge district is where locals actually hang out, so you get that authentic Copenhagen vibe just across the water.

The Room Experience

I’ll be straight with you — the beds here are exceptional. Like, genuinely some of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve encountered, and apparently other guests agree because the sleep quality ratings are through the roof. The room design follows that minimalist Scandinavian aesthetic, but with luxury touches that remind you this is a premium property. Floor-to-ceiling windows are standard in most rooms, and if you can swing a harbor view, absolutely do it. The bathrooms are spacious with walk-in showers, and there’s actually enough counter space for all your stuff — which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many hotels mess this up.

Dining & Amenities

The breakfast setup here is really well done — they offer both continental and buffet options, so whether you want something quick or you’re the type who likes to sample everything, you’re covered. The main restaurant focuses on Nordic cuisine with international influences, and while it’s not cheap, the quality matches what you’d expect from a luxury Marriott property. There’s also a fitness center that’s actually worth using (not just a couple of sad treadmills), and the spa services are solid if you want to treat yourself after walking around the city all day.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how it manages to feel both luxurious and genuinely Danish at the same time. You’re not staying in some generic international hotel that could be anywhere — this feels distinctly like Copenhagen, but with all the comfort and service standards you want from a five-star property. The staff actually knows the city well and can point you toward things locals do, not just the obvious tourist spots. Plus, the combination of that waterfront location, those incredibly comfortable beds, and the easy access to both the historic center and the more contemporary parts of the city just works perfectly for most travelers.

The concierge service in Copenhagen arranges private canal tastings, after-hours Rosenborg tours, and designer bike fittings across cycle-friendly boulevards.

Reviews of Copenhagen Marriott Hotel

  • Fuad from Azerbaijan – 13 April 2025 (9/10)

Location, cleanless, stuff and overall ambiance was great!

Not that we did not like, but the bathroom andnamenities in the bth would probably be better to upgrade and rennovate. All was working and in nice condition though.

  • Glyn from Sweden – 10 April 2025 (9/10)

I like the location, close to station, nice view and good staff and it’s clean.

  • Meltem from Turkey – 3 April 2025 (9/10)

The hotel is within walking distance of the city centre. Our room had a beautiful view as it overlooked the river. The breakfast was excellent. Overall, the hotel is quite suitable for family travel.

What could be improved: The only issue was that whenever we requested something from reception, we had to call at least twice. Additionally, housekeeping often forgets to replenish certain items in the room. While the beds were not very comfortable, they were suitable for sleeping.

  • Juri from Qatar – 3 April 2025 (9/10)

Excellent location; professional staff; clean rooms and facilities

  • Koon from Singapore – 27 March 2025 (8/10)

Like: Clean, comfortable bed & location.

Dislike: limited food choices at the only restaurant.

  • Mary from Greece – 25 March 2025 (9/10)

The location, the view, the size of the room, the comfortable bed, the large windows, the lobby area, the bar and the very helpful and polite Staff.

What could be improved: Liked everything and thoroughly enjoyed my stay!

  • Halldor from Iceland – 28 February 2025 (9/10)

We upgraded our room after 2 nights and got a brilliant room with a beautiful view for 2 nights. The breakfast was the best I have ever had! It only took about 10 minutes to walk to the city center.

What could be improved: The first room we got was of good size but everything there was getting old. The toilet barely flushed and the interiors were very worn out.

  • Pratyush from India – 21 February 2025 (8/10)

Great location, nice big rooms, great friendly staff

What could be improved: Room service menu is limited

  • Mark from United Arab Emirates – 21 February 2025 (7/10)

    Location, cleanliness and comfort

What could be improved: I upgraded to use the executive lounge and was disappointed with the food and drink options at lunch time and in the evening.

The TV channels need more options for international travelers.

  • Jelena from Latvia – 17 February 2025 (9/10)

Perfect staff, great location, very good breakfast, comfortably beds, charming atmosphera

What could be improved: Drainage system in the bathroom and toilet
