First Impressions

When I first spotted Hotel CPH Living on Langebrogade, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a hotel that’s literally floating on the water. This three-star property sits right on Copenhagen‘s harbor, and I mean right on it — you’re staying on a converted ferry that’s been transformed into one of the city’s most unique accommodations. The whole setup feels a bit like stepping onto a boutique cruise ship that decided to park permanently in one of Europe’s most charming capitals.

The Floating Experience

What strikes you immediately is how the gentle rocking motion actually becomes quite soothing — though if you’re prone to seasickness, you might want to consider this carefully. The room I stayed in had these fantastic floor-to-ceiling windows that made me feel like I was living in a houseboat rather than just visiting a hotel. You know what’s really clever about this place? They’ve managed to keep the maritime character without making it feel gimmicky or cramped. The corridors still have that ship-like feel, but the spaces themselves are surprisingly spacious and modern.

Location & Neighborhood

The location is honestly spectacular — you’re moored right in Christianshavn, which puts you within walking distance of pretty much everything worth seeing in Copenhagen. I could see why couples rate this spot so highly (apparently 9.4 out of 10) because there’s something undeniably romantic about having dinner at the onboard restaurant and then stepping out onto the deck to watch the city lights reflect on the water. The Little Mermaid statue is just a pleasant stroll along the waterfront, and you’re close enough to Nyhavn that you can easily walk there for those classic colorful building photos.

Comfort & Amenities

I’ll be honest — I was skeptical about how comfortable the beds would be on a floating hotel, but they’ve clearly invested in quality mattresses because I slept incredibly well. The continental breakfast buffet happens in their dining area with panoramic harbor views, which beats staring at a hotel lobby wall any day. There’s limited parking nearby since you’re in the city center, but Copenhagen’s bike culture means you probably won’t need a car anyway. The staff genuinely seems to enjoy working in such an unusual setting, and their enthusiasm shows in the service quality.

  Great location walking distance to lots of restaurants, bars and shops. Rose was a great host always greeted with a smile at breakfast.
  
  What could be improved: It can be a little noisy as it’s close to a busy road bridge, the spiral staircase to the upper deck rooms from the breakfast area/reception is not easy to negotiate with suitcases(there is a straight staircase at the other end)

  The location is close to sites and close to the ferry and buses. Not to mention the gorgeous views. Also, the rooms are quiet (when the windows are shut) and cozy. I will love to come back again.

  It was easy access to the city. Everyone that we spoke with was nice. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was great. Location was easy to get to Metro and different parts of the city. Will stay here again in the future.

  Great location and really aesthetically pleasing. Self check was available for late check in. Views from room are incredible and very comfy beds from which to view. Attention to detail in rooms and access to kitchen area for drinks. Lovely continental breakfast served. Really quirky and unique accommodation.
