Scandic Spectrum Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Scandic Spectrum, you immediately notice how the lobby feels both sleek and welcoming — there’s this modern Scandinavian design thing going on that doesn’t feel cold or sterile. The four-star property sits right on Kalvebod Brygge, and honestly, the location is what really sets this place apart. I mean, you’re literally steps away from the waterfront with those gorgeous harbor views that Copenhagen does so well. The staff greets you in that effortlessly friendly Danish way, and you can tell right away this isn’t going to be one of those stuffy hotel experiences.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about staying at Scandic Spectrum — you’re positioned perfectly between Copenhagen’s business district and the more tourist-friendly areas. Couples absolutely love it here (they rate the location 8.8 out of 10, which honestly makes total sense), and I can see why. You can walk to Tivoli Gardens in about 15 minutes, but you’re also close enough to the financial district that business travelers don’t feel stranded. The harbor promenade right outside is perfect for morning jogs or evening strolls, and there’s something really peaceful about watching the boats while you’re still in the heart of the city.
The Room Experience
The rooms follow that clean, minimalist aesthetic you’d expect from a Danish hotel, but they’ve managed to make them feel cozy rather than sparse. Large windows let in plenty of natural light — and if you’re lucky enough to get a harbor-facing room, well, you’ll spend way too much time just staring out at the water. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms are spacious with those rainfall showers that actually work properly. You know what I appreciated? The rooms are quiet despite being in a busy part of the city, which isn’t always a given in Copenhagen hotels.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast spread here is actually impressive — they’ve got the usual continental options, but they’ve also thoughtfully included vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free choices that don’t feel like afterthoughts. The Danish pastries are obviously excellent (this is Copenhagen, after all), but I was surprised by how good the fresh fruit and yogurt selection was. They serve breakfast in a bright dining area with harbor views, so you’re starting your day looking out at the water while planning your Copenhagen adventures. It’s one of those breakfasts where you might linger longer than planned.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes Scandic Spectrum work is how it balances that refined Scandinavian hospitality with genuine practicality. The private parking is a huge plus if you’re driving (parking in Copenhagen can be a nightmare), and the location means you can walk to most major attractions without relying on public transport constantly. The staff seems to genuinely know the city and can point you toward those local spots that aren’t in every guidebook. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re experiencing Copenhagen rather than just visiting it — and for a four-star hotel, that’s exactly what you want.
Savvy travelers reserve a hotel in Copenhagen before cherry blossoms paint Bispebjerg Cemetery and lakeside paths.

Reviews of Scandic Spectrum
Carla from Norway – 11 April 2025 (8/10)
Clean, good bed, good showet, good breakfast
What could be improved: Not tea available in the roomCagla from Turkey – 9 April 2025 (7/10)
The hotel is stated at a good location, minutes away from Tivoli Gardens. Breakfast is excellent.
What could be improved: Pool and sauna facilities can be easily understood that they are already under the standard hotel package unless you carefully check guest comments/questions. You need to pay extra (good amount of money) where they combine it with dinner packages and you need to reserve to find a spot for the pool, besides kids are not allowed. If you want a room with canal view then you need to book for a superior room.Linda from United Kingdom – 8 April 2025 (8/10)
Breakfast was great, though much better laid out in the room at the weekend. It was not organised well at all on Monday or Tuesday.
Room was fab, lighting a bit difficult to use, too many options.Ömer from Turkey – 7 April 2025 (9/10)
Great to stay

20 minutes easy walk from train station.
Only £3 each way on lovely frequent train straight into airport. Journey time 15 mins.
Excellent breakfast with everything you could possibly want – well cooked and fresh with v good coffee! Right on river where all the locals swim early morning in icy water – very clean water!
What could be improved: Had to book a time slot for breakfast the night before / but it kept us on track for sightsee itinerary!Rachel from United Kingdom – 21 March 2025 (9/10)
Great hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Facilities are superb, and the additional cost for the spa facilities was worth it. As a solo female traveller I felt very safe and the hotel is in a great location with easy public transport to and from the airport.
Would definitely stay again!
