25hours Hotel Paper Island Overview

First Impressions

Walking into 25hours Hotel Paper Island feels like stepping into Copenhagen’s creative soul — and I mean that in the best possible way. This four-star gem sits right on Papiroen (Paper Island), which used to be an actual paper warehouse before becoming one of the city’s coolest neighborhoods. The lobby hits you with this perfect mix of industrial heritage and Scandinavian design that doesn’t feel forced or trying too hard. You know what really caught my attention? The way they’ve kept some of the original warehouse elements while making everything feel warm and welcoming.

Location & Neighborhood

Honestly, the location is pretty spectacular — couples especially seem to get this, rating it 9.6 out of 10. You’re in Christianshavn, which means you can walk to the famous Freetown Christiania in about ten minutes, and the city center is just across the harbor. What I love about this spot is that you’re close enough to everything but tucked away from the tourist crowds that pack Nyhavn. The waterfront views are genuinely stunning, and there’s something magical about watching the harbor activity from your window. Plus, you’ve got Copenhagen Street Food right nearby (well, when it’s operating), and the whole area has this laid-back, artsy vibe that feels authentically Copenhagen.

The Room Experience

The rooms at 25hours Hotel Paper Island have this playful yet refined aesthetic that somehow works perfectly. I mean, where else are you going to find a hotel that incorporates local street art into the room design without it feeling gimmicky? The beds are seriously comfortable — that Scandinavian attention to sleep quality is real — and the bathrooms are sleek without being sterile. What really impressed me was the attention to detail: proper blackout curtains (essential during those bright summer nights), USB ports where you actually need them, and windows that open for fresh air. The harbor-facing rooms are worth the upgrade if you can swing it.

Breakfast & Dining

The breakfast spread here actually lives up to Copenhagen’s reputation for great food. They’ve got the full range covered — continental classics, vegetarian options, vegan choices, and even breakfast to go if you’re rushing off to catch a morning train. What sets it apart is the quality of the local ingredients and the fact that they clearly put thought into dietary restrictions. The coffee is proper strong (thank goodness), and they source from local suppliers when possible. If you’re staying multiple days, the variety means you won’t get bored, which honestly can be an issue at some hotels.

Why Guests Love It

There’s parking available on-site, which is genuinely helpful in Copenhagen where street parking can be a nightmare. But what really makes 25hours Hotel Paper Island special is how it captures the spirit of modern Copenhagen — creative, sustainable, and unpretentious. The staff seems to genuinely care about your experience rather than just going through the motions. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere that locals would actually recommend, not just another hotel that happens to be in a great location. The 9.1 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve experienced the whole package.

Reviews of 25hours Hotel Paper Island

  • Yoel from Israel – 15 April 2025 (8/10)

    1. Beware: there are TWO hotels of that name in Copenhagen. It took 3 very expensive rides to get to the right one.
    2. The building is an architectural landmark, but has its snags. The door to the terrace, for which I paid extra, was broken. It took an effort to find an alternative room. (This was after the drive by saga, so I was starting to get a little nervous)
    3. Staff was friendly, but not always efficient: for example, instead of being credited for bike I did not rent, I was billed twice.
    4. Best breakfast I had in a long time.

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in! It seemed as though everything was thought of that we could need. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the hotel’s interiors were amazing! Everywhere was so clean and we will definitely be returning! The location was great and very quiet, very close to the delicious Hart Bakery and Broens street food market! We definitely recommend a stay here!

  • Emily from United Kingdom – 9 April 2025 (10/10)

Gorgeous – we loved the interior decoration throughout the hotel. Hotel was around a 5 minute walk from Nyhaven and a great outdoor food market just across the bridge – area around the hotel was virtually pedestrian and bike only so no loud traffic sounds. The bed was exceptionally comfy with really nice bed linen.
Staff were great and super friendly.

  • Steffen from Austria – 8 April 2025 (8/10)

Excellent nordic style hotel with bike in room, location a bit too far from centrum

  • Anthony from United Kingdom – 7 April 2025 (9/10)

The hotel is very clean and very cool! The large room was spacious and very well finished. We loved being close to the Broens food market. The surrounding area is being currently built on so not everything around the hotel is populated yet or finished even though the hotel itself is. This will correct itself before long and it still wasn’t a problem with the hotel, just something to keep in mind.

  • Susan from United Kingdom – 7 April 2025 (9/10)

Great location not far from Nyhavn . Rooms were stylish and comfortable. The window seats were cool and we had a great view of the opera house .
Free mini bar and refill was a nice touch.
Great breakfast choice and excellent restaurant for dinner .
    All staff were super helpful

What could be improved: Quite noisy late in evening as bar above us but that was the only issue.

  • Kelly from United Kingdom – 6 April 2025 (10/10)

Amazing Hotel. Beautifully decorated, great location. Spotlessly clean

  • Mullerenko from Switzerland – 4 April 2025 (10/10)

Fantastic location, new and stylish hotel, welcoming staff.

What could be improved: Nothing to add.

  • Franziska from Germany – 31 March 2025 (9/10)

The room was immaculately clean and very comfortable. The location is perfect, quiet area, 10 min walk to Nyhavn. We had to leave very early in the morning. At check out there was Mario (the concierge) who was extremely helpful and very friendly. He made my day! Thank you Mario, you are amazing!

  • Bryony from United Kingdom – 28 March 2025 (9/10)

Perfect location right near the harbour. Staff were really helpful and I was able to check in earlier than planned. Room was very comfortable with a great view and lovely window seat. Loved the bluetooth speaker and free minibar. Cocktail bar on the 8th floor is also really worth a visit.
