Bright apartment next to the King’s Garden Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Bright apartment next to the King’s Garden, you immediately get that “I’m staying somewhere special” feeling — and honestly, it’s all about the location. Rigensgade is one of those Copenhagen streets that feels perfectly residential yet puts you right in the thick of things. The building itself has that classic Danish charm, and when you’re climbing up to the first floor apartment, there’s this anticipation building because you know Kongens Have (that’s the King’s Garden) is literally right there.

Location & Neighborhood

I mean, you really can’t ask for a better spot in Copenhagen. The King’s Garden is your backyard — I’m talking about Denmark’s oldest royal garden where locals actually hang out, not just tourists taking photos. You can grab your morning coffee and be sitting by Rosenborg Castle in about two minutes. What I love is how couples seem to get this location (they rate it 8.6, which makes total sense) — there’s something romantic about strolling through those tree-lined paths, then ducking into the Latin Quarter for dinner. Nørreport Station is a quick walk, so you’re connected to everything, but the neighborhood itself has enough cafes and shops that you might not need to venture far.

The Apartment Experience

This four-star apartment lives up to its “bright” name — the windows let in that gorgeous Scandinavian light that makes everything look Instagram-worthy without trying. The space feels authentically Copenhagen, not like some generic rental property. You’ve got proper room to spread out (which is refreshing after staying in typical European hotel rooms), and the kitchen actually works if you want to grab ingredients from Torvehallerne market and cook something simple. The decor strikes that perfect Danish balance — clean and modern but warm enough that you feel at home, not like you’re living in a design magazine.

Daily Life Here

What really works about staying here is how quickly you fall into a Copenhagen rhythm. Morning walks through the King’s Garden become automatic — you’ll find yourself taking different paths just to see what’s blooming or which statue you missed yesterday. The apartment’s position means you’re close enough to Strøget for shopping and Nyhavn for the classic canal views, but you come home to this quiet residential street where actual Copenhageners live. I found myself grocery shopping at the local spots, nodding hello to neighbors — you know, actually experiencing the city rather than just visiting it.

Why Guests Love It

Recent guests consistently rate this place 8.7 for location, and after staying here, that number makes perfect sense. It’s not just about being central — plenty of places can claim that. It’s about being in a spot where Copenhagen’s best parts (the royal history, the park life, the cozy neighborhood feel) all overlap. You’re getting an upscale experience without the stuffiness of a traditional hotel, plus that rare thing in city travel — actual space to breathe. The fact that couples particularly love it tells you something about the romantic potential of having Kongens Have as your front yard and the freedom to create your own Copenhagen story.

Hotel in Copenhagen reservations spike before Distortion festival, so revelers lock in loft suites early.

Reviews of Bright apartment next to the King’s Garden

  • Camille-pierre from France – 29 September 2024 (7/10)

We enjoyed the living space and the well furnished kitchen! They're large and allow you to feel at home, which is great.
Many amenities are also included, such as a hairdryer, shampoo, soap.
Very responsive owners, got us professional help on a Sunday morning after we had some issues with the keys!

The location was nice as well, having direct access to the park is very enjoyable, and you're less than 10 minutes away from the metro, less than 15 from the trainstation.

What could be improved: The apartment is an old renovated one, but it unfortunately shows in some bad ways.
The doors, door handles, and locks are fiddly, I've had to screw the main door handle back in after the screws fell out, and another is missing from the bathroom door handle's mount.
Floors are creaky, I hoped the neighbors underneath weren't bothered.
Be careful when moving from one room to the other that you don't stub your toes or trip on the doorframes. (so far, still more charming than inconvenient)
    The bathroom and bed were a bit disappointing however;
    bathroom:
there is no air vent to take the steam away, and nothing serving the role of shower curtain.
opening a window helps, but isn't comfortable.
The toilet is also in the same small room, which I don't find is ideal either.
This combined with the wet walls and floor after a shower make me remove 1 point from the "cleanliness" rating unfortunately, since after a few days of use without serious cleaning it gets really grimy.
Found 1 electric socket in the bathroom, on the floor by the toilet, but it seems to be used for the electric radiator, so it's radiator or hairdryer, or you gotta dry your hair/shave somewhere else.
    Bedroom:
Squishy bed and suffocating blankets; the pillows had to be supplemented with more from the couch since those provided entirely flattened under our heads, and the edge of the mattress tilted down, making our heads lower than the rest of our body and leading to very unpleasant congestion.
We did not enjoy the sleeping experience.
    The surroundings were calm however.
Electric plug near one side of the bed.
Blankets were very thick and not very wide, we constantly woke up overheating in the middle of the night. Would have enjoyed more traditional bedding.

  • Maka from Georgia – 31 August 2024 (8/10)

Bright cozy apartment with very good location. There is a nice park just across the street. Apartment is very close to city center and other attractions (Art museum and Royal Palace). It is well equipped. Also there are several supermarkets very close.

  • Riccardo from Italy – 7 July 2024 (9/10)

The flat is perfect for a couple, strategically positioned, very well equipped, clean and cozy. Also very silent.

What could be improved: We had just bit of thrilling time around the door lock as opening or closing the flat’s door is not so obvious when you try to enter or close the flat the first day. Maybe this can be optimized so to spare the initial adrenalyne…;-)

  • Sandra from Spain – 10 May 2024 (9/10)

The apartment is very nice, perfect for a couple, and it's next to a beautiful park and close to several cool bars and restaurants. Very good situation.
The bathroom (we had read some regular feedbacks), it's now completely new! 😀
Besides that, we were also lucky enough to be able to make an early check in (of course this was an extra, it will not always be possible)…so we were so grateful!

What could be improved: To say the least, the keys and locks of both the apartment and the two gates were sometimes a bit 'hard'.

  • Felix from Germany – 14 October 2023 (9/10)

The entire flair of the apartment is awesome. When we had difficulties in opening the door the first time, the hosts were on their phone in an instant.
Kitchen and bathroom are both really clean and well equiped.

What could be improved: This can kind of be expected in such an apartment but the floor was always creaking. So when you leave the bedroom, expect the other person to wake up.

  • Bettina from Austria – 28 April 2023 (9/10)

Beautiful, functional apartment and the absolute best location for exploring the city!
Grocery stores and nice cafes and restaurants in the area! Thanks also for the tips from the hosts 🙂
It was the perfect place for our trip.

    What could be improved: –

  • Justine from United States – 25 March 2023 (7/10)

    Cute inside, comfortable bed

What could be improved: There needs to be window coverings – esp in the bathroom. Hallway is a bit dingy.

  • Rogier from Netherlands – 5 March 2023 (9/10)

really nice apartment, central location, lot of independence. the host was super flexible and friendly. has everything I needed

  • Camilla from Sweden – 15 July 2022 (8/10)

Very good location and great facilities in the apartment!

What could be improved: The wifi was open and not secured with a password (and therefore not safe to use).

  • Liz from United Kingdom – 27 May 2022 (9/10)

Perfect location, great apartment with well stocked kitchen.

What could be improved: Unfortunately, when we were there, were road works outside starting at 7am every day except Sun.
