Fairfield by Marriott Copenhagen Nordhavn Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Fairfield by Marriott Copenhagen Nordhavn, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical chain hotel — there’s something refreshingly modern about the whole setup. The lobby feels crisp and welcoming without being overly flashy, which honestly sets the right tone for what this four-star property delivers. You’re in Østerbro, one of Copenhagen’s more residential neighborhoods, and the hotel fits right into that relaxed, local vibe. I mean, you can tell they’ve put thought into making this place feel Danish rather than just dropping a generic hotel into the city.

The Nordhavn Neighborhood

Here’s what I really appreciate about staying here — you’re positioned in an area that feels authentically Copenhagen without the tourist crowds. Nordhavn is this emerging waterfront district that locals actually hang out in, and you’ll find yourself walking along genuine neighborhood streets rather than fighting through Nyhavn’s selfie sticks. The location gets serious praise from guests (especially couples who rate it 8.9), and I get why. You’re close enough to reach the city center easily, but far enough out to experience how Copenhageners actually live. There are local cafés within walking distance, and the harbor views remind you that this is very much a maritime city.

Room Experience

The rooms strike that sweet spot between Scandinavian minimalism and actual comfort — clean lines, quality materials, but nothing that makes you afraid to actually use the space. What impressed me most was the attention to practical details that matter when you’re traveling. The beds are genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and there’s enough storage space that you can actually unpack if you’re staying more than a night. The bathrooms are well-designed too, with that efficient Nordic approach where everything works exactly as it should.

Breakfast Worth Mentioning

Honestly, hotel breakfasts can be hit or miss, but they’ve got this one figured out. The buffet setup includes continental options alongside vegetarian choices, and you can tell they source quality ingredients rather than just filling tables with generic hotel food. I particularly appreciated that they cater to different dietary needs without making it feel like an afterthought. The breakfast area itself has good natural light, which makes starting your Copenhagen day feel more civilized than grabbing something on the run.

Why Guests Love It

This hotel works because it gets the fundamentals right while giving you a genuine taste of Copenhagen life. The 8.7 guest rating reflects what you actually experience — solid comfort, thoughtful service, and a location that lets you explore the city like someone who lives here rather than just visits. You’re not paying for unnecessary frills, but you’re getting quality where it counts. For couples especially, there’s something appealing about being in a neighborhood where you can wander to a local bakery in the morning or find a proper Danish restaurant for dinner without consulting tourist guides.

Very nice and conveniently located hotel. Good for short and long stays. Metro close by, so easy to get to the city centre. Tasty breakfast. The sea view from the window was a real treat.

  • Sarah from United Kingdom – 9 April 2025 (9/10)

I really liked the room we had, which had a sea view. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. I especially liked the fact that it also had a big chair and footstool in it, so you could relax without having to sit or lie on the bed.
The staff were all very helpful and friendly too.

What could be improved: I felt the breakfast let it down a little. Some fresh fruit would have been nice – sliced oranges, melon, etc. And some bacon (Danish!), fried eggs and baked beans. The scrambled egg was also very watery for the first couple of days we were there, and consequently didn’t look very appetising.

  • Alessandro from Sweden – 6 April 2025 (9/10)

Great hotel in Copenhagen. Very well connected to the city with M4, super fresh and worth the money it costs.
Breakfast was nice, even if it could be improved with a bit wider selection.
For who suffer the light, bring a mask for the eyes: it is a must when visiting Nordic countries, the curtains do not cover completely.
    Definitely recommended!!
