ibis Styles Copenhagen Orestad Overview

First Impressions

Walking into ibis Styles Copenhagen Orestad, you immediately notice this isn’t your typical cookie-cutter chain hotel. The design feels fresh and distinctly Scandinavian — clean lines, pops of color, and that effortless Danish aesthetic that somehow makes everything look both modern and cozy. It’s a three-star property, but honestly, the attention to detail in the lobby and common areas feels like they’re punching above their weight class.

Location & Getting Around

The Orestad area might not sound familiar if you’re new to Copenhagen, but trust me on this — it’s actually a smart choice. You’re in Amager Vest, which puts you close to the airport (super handy for early flights) but still connected to the city center via the efficient Metro system. I mean, couples consistently rate this location 8.9 out of 10, and after staying here, I get why. You’ve got the Bella Center nearby if you’re here for business, plus Fields shopping center is practically next door when you need to grab something or escape the Danish weather for a bit.

The Room Experience

The room design follows that same playful-yet-practical ibis Styles approach — think bright accent walls, clever storage solutions, and a bed that’s surprisingly comfortable for the price point. What I appreciated most was how they’ve maximized the space without making it feel cramped. The bathroom is compact but functional, and you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re spending most of your time exploring the city anyway.

Breakfast & Dining

The buffet breakfast here is where this place really shines — and I’m not just saying that because it’s included in most rates. They’ve got a solid spread of Danish pastries, fresh bread, and all the usual suspects, but they also throw in some local touches that make it feel authentic rather than generic hotel fare. The coffee is actually decent (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always a given), and the breakfast area has this bright, airy feel that makes starting your day here genuinely pleasant. There’s no full restaurant on-site, but with Copenhagen’s food scene just a Metro ride away, you’re not exactly lacking options.

Why Guests Love It

Here’s the thing about this hotel — it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. The parking situation is sorted if you’re driving (which many hotels in Copenhagen can’t say), the staff genuinely seems to care about your experience, and the whole place just feels well-run. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does really well. For the price point and location, especially if you’re a couple looking for a solid base to explore Copenhagen without breaking the bank, this place hits that sweet spot between comfort, style, and practicality that’s harder to find than you’d think.

To book a hotel in Copenhagen during Christmas markets, visitors plan ahead to pair Tivoli lights with steaming gløgg on Strøget.

Reviews of ibis Styles Copenhagen Orestad

  • Irena from Serbia – 14 April 2025 (9/10)

We liked everything. Location is perfect-50m from metro station, and the best part is that there is no any noise from it in the room. Food is nice, staff were super helpful and nice, rooms are clean and cozy. Nothing to dislike here ☺️

  • Amanda from United Kingdom – 10 April 2025 (9/10)

Stayed here for proximity to the Arena to go see Ateez.

Loved this location to walk to the arena and a short 5 min train to the centre.

We had a high floor corner room with so much natural light. The decor of the room was impeccable and the shower was fantastic. The bed was super comfortable.

The hotel lobby and bar area is perfect to chill out – they have free tea, coffee and water fountains. We loved sitting here each evening having a couple beers.

Next door is the Anderson bakery which I highly recommend.

The staff were friendly and warm.

What could be improved: Nothing. We genuinely loved everything and plan to stay here on a future trip to Copenhagen.

  • Soraya from France – 8 April 2025 (9/10)

A very good value for money. The hotel is very well decorated, the rooms are clean and very comfortable. The breakfast is very good as well. The metro is right across from the street so the access to the city is very practical. I recommend for your next trip to Copenhagen.

  • Dániel from Hungary – 6 April 2025 (9/10)

    Clean, modern and good location

  • Corinna from Germany – 6 April 2025 (9/10)

Really nice room, quiet and clean. Comfy bed. Great view.

  • Robert from United Kingdom – 6 April 2025 (9/10)

    Good

What could be improved: Air conditioning in the room was poor quality

  • Jessica from Indonesia – 3 April 2025 (9/10)

Amazing, Friendly and helpful Staff. They were very accommodating. We arrived early from our flight and the reception helped us with early check-in (perhaps because I am also an Accor member) but because we carry a child with us, they tried their best to let us check-in early so we could rest after a really long flight. Location is very close to the metro. They have good cafe/restaurant in the lobby floor.

What could be improved: The room is quite dusty as my husband is allergic to dust and he kept having sneezes that he had to sleep with mask on. However otherwise everything is great.

  • Nijolė from Lithuania – 3 April 2025 (9/10)

Cozy, clean room and friendly staff.

  • Leah from United Kingdom – 2 April 2025 (9/10)

30 seconds from the metro- you can see it from your window. Very close to the airport and also to town because of the metro. Free unlimited tea, coffee and water downstairs that you can take to your room. All the staff were friendly and helpful and when we had dinner the food was enjoyable. The room was lovely and clean and plenty of space for 3 of us in one room.

What could be improved: The bathroom could be a bit more soundproofed and the food cheaper, although the food was lovely.

  • Soundarya from United Kingdom – 1 April 2025 (8/10)

Everyone was friendly, place was clean and the hotel is right in front of the metro which makes it very convenient.

What could be improved: Not the hotel but the area around doesn’t look the most appealing but it’s fine.
