Scandic CPH Strandpark Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Scandic CPH Strandpark, you immediately get that “wait, am I actually still in Copenhagen?” feeling. This four-star hotel sits right on Amager Strandvej, and I mean right on it — you’re basically a stone’s throw from the beach. The lobby has this clean, Nordic design that doesn’t try too hard, which honestly feels refreshing after seeing so many hotels that go overboard with the Scandinavian aesthetic. There’s something genuinely calming about the place that hits you before you even check in.

Location That Actually Delivers

Here’s the thing about Copenhagen hotels — most claim great locations, but Scandic CPH Strandpark actually delivers on it. You’re on Amager Island, which sounds far but really isn’t — the metro connects you to the city center in about 15 minutes. What you get in return is this incredible beachfront setting that most visitors to Copenhagen never even know exists. I watched couples walking along the strand in the evening, and you can see why the location scores so well with them. The beach here isn’t just for show either — locals actually use it, especially during summer when the water’s surprisingly swimmable.

The Room Experience

The rooms follow that understated Scandic formula, but with water views that make all the difference. I stayed in one facing the Øresund, and honestly, waking up to that view never got old. The beds are proper Scandinavian firm (which I actually prefer), and there’s enough space to spread out without feeling like you’re rattling around. What I appreciated most was the attention to small details — good lighting for reading, plenty of outlets, and blackout curtains that actually work. The bathrooms are compact but well-designed, with that rainfall shower head that seems mandatory in Nordic hotels these days.

Breakfast and Practical Matters

The breakfast buffet here does what Scandic hotels do best — it’s comprehensive without being overwhelming. You’ll find all the Danish classics alongside international options, and the coffee is actually good (not always a given at hotel breakfast buffets). What really sets this place apart practically is the private parking — if you’re driving in Copenhagen, you know what a relief that is. The staff genuinely seems to know the area well too, which matters when you’re staying somewhere that’s not in the obvious tourist zone.

Why Guests Love It

There’s something about staying at Scandic CPH Strandpark that feels like you’re getting an insider’s view of Copenhagen. You’re close enough to pop into the city whenever you want, but far enough out to experience this quieter, more residential side of Danish life. The beach location gives you options — morning runs along the water, evening walks, or just sitting with a coffee watching the bridge traffic in the distance. It’s the kind of place that works whether you’re here for business or leisure, though I suspect couples particularly love it because it offers both urban access and romantic seaside moments without having to choose between them.

Reviews of Scandic CPH Strandpark

  • Samantha from United Kingdom – 16 April 2025 (9/10)

The staff were super helpful and offered us help and advice not only for our stay, but to enable a whistle stop tour of the city. We had a takeaway breakfast made up for us due to an early flight and Minecraft packs for the kids (including free Zombie cocktails!) which were the perfect treat for the end of our holidays

What could be improved: The price felt expensive for an airport hotel, although the service and quality of the hotel made up for it.

  • George from United States – 16 April 2025 (9/10)

Amazing breakfast! Nice lobby area, very spacious. Clean rooms and bathrooms

What could be improved: Nothing. Rooms could be on the smaller side for a family of 4 but that's very minor

  • Lyndsey from United Kingdom – 14 April 2025 (9/10)

We had a great stay! The staff were extremely helpful. Easy to get into the city centre on the underground less than 10 mins walk away. Would definitely stay again!

    What could be improved: Nothing!

  • Lisa from United Kingdom – 14 April 2025 (9/10)

Great breakfast! Very clean room. They offer a shuttle service, but the Katstrup metro is a 5 minute walk and is one stop to the airport, so very well located for getting into ghe city also.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Zvi from United Kingdom – 14 April 2025 (9/10)

Very nice hotel. Felt very fancy for the price. The room was nice and big with a nice view. Shower was very nice. The breakfast was great with a big selection. There is a metro station 10 minutes walk from the hotel with a short train ride to the city and airport is only a 15 minutes walk.
Only thing we didn’t like is that parking which was very expensive.

  • Yeuk from United Kingdom – 14 April 2025 (9/10)

New and clean. Friendly staff. The bar at top floor has good selection of local draft beer and not overpriced

  • Veronika from Denmark – 12 April 2025 (9/10)

Fantastic breakfast buffet, very kids-friendly. Great free shuttle service to the airport.

  • Shahir from United States – 11 April 2025 (8/10)

Very good overall. The room is a little tight space-wise. The Ned could be smaller (but maybe longer) to create more space.

  • Shahir from United States – 11 April 2025 (9/10)

Nice facilities for relaxation – sauna.

  • Mary from United States – 11 April 2025 (8/10)

Awesome breakfast. Within walking distance to the airport.
