The entrance has that understated Scandinavian elegance that doesn’t try too hard, which honestly sets the tone for everything else.

The Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about staying at Scandic Front — you’re positioned perfectly between Nyhavn’s colorful canal houses and the shopping district, but without the tourist chaos right outside your door. Sankt Annæ Plads is one of those spots locals actually use, so you’ll see people walking their dogs in the morning and couples meeting for coffee (no wonder couples rate the location 9.6 out of 10). The Royal Theatre is practically around the corner, and you can walk to Strøget in about five minutes. Plus, there’s something satisfying about having private parking in central Copenhagen — trust me, that’s not always easy to find.

The Rooms

The rooms strike that perfect Scandic balance of functional and comfortable without being flashy. Clean lines, good lighting, and beds that actually let you sleep well after a day of walking around Copenhagen’s cobblestone streets. The windows are well-insulated too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re this close to the city center. I particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches — decent desk space if you need to catch up on work, and bathrooms that feel spacious even in the standard rooms.

Breakfast Experience

The breakfast setup here really impressed me, especially if you have dietary restrictions or preferences. They’ve got the full spread — continental options, vegan choices, gluten-free items, and a proper buffet that doesn’t feel picked over even if you come down later in the morning. What’s clever is they also offer breakfast to go, which is perfect for those early morning flights or if you want to grab something and eat by the harbor. The coffee is solid (this is Denmark, after all), and they actually seem to understand that not everyone wants the same heavy breakfast every day.

  Scandic Front is a perfect location for those wanting to explore Copenhagen. It is right on the water and walkable to all the iconic landmarks, churches, palaces, and shopping. Only one block from Nyhavn, which boasts many restaurants and stores. Parking was very easy and the room was perfect. The bed was extremely comfortable and the heated bathroom floor was an added bonus. Breakfast each morning had a variety of options, including a vegan area, which we appreciated since we like to eat plant based. A superb place to stay in such an incredible city!

  What could be improved: I liked everything. The only reason that I rated 9 and not 10 is due to the fact that there is no bar. You can buy beverages in the reception and sit in the lobby, though.

  The location of the hotel is great. We had no problems getting to the main shopping street or other important sights. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was perfect for us, enough variety, and a nice tea (& coffee) selection. Our room was one of the smaller ones, but that didn't bother us. All in all, we had a great time and would definitely come back.

  The location was great and the rooms were nice. The breakfast buffet was busy but with a large variety; including a few special Danish Christmas treats such as the rice pudding. Also very friendly staff when we checked in.
