The Admirals Apartments – Apartments 1 & 2 – Carolinas apartments Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to The Admirals Apartments – Apartments 1 & 2 – Carolinas apartments on Admiralgade, you immediately sense you’ve found something special in Copenhagen’s historic center. The building sits on one of those perfectly preserved cobblestone streets that makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time — but honestly, the modern comforts inside are what really won me over. This four-star property occupies three floors of a classic Danish townhouse, and there’s something genuinely charming about having your own apartment-style space rather than just another hotel room.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what’s brilliant about this spot? You’re literally in the heart of old Copenhagen, but it doesn’t feel touristy or overwhelming. Admiralgade is this quiet residential street that somehow puts you within walking distance of everything — I mean, Nyhavn’s colorful houses are just a few minutes away, and you can easily stroll to Amalienborg Palace or the shopping district around Strøget. The couples who stay here consistently give the location perfect scores, and I totally get why. There’s actually a cozy café right around the corner that locals frequent, plus you’ll find proper grocery stores nearby if you want to use the apartment’s kitchen facilities.
The Apartment Experience
What sets this place apart is the apartment setup — you’re not cramped into a typical hotel room, but rather spread out in a proper living space with separate areas for sleeping, cooking, and relaxing. The kitchenette is actually functional (not just for show), which is perfect if you want to grab some Danish pastries from the local bakery and have breakfast at your own pace. The décor strikes that sweet spot between Scandinavian minimalism and homey comfort, with quality furnishings that feel both stylish and lived-in. Each apartment has its own character too, so you’re getting something more personal than your standard chain hotel experience.
Practical Comforts
The building spans three floors, and while there’s no elevator, the climb is manageable and honestly adds to the authentic Copenhagen townhouse feel. What impressed me most was how well-maintained everything is — from the heating (crucial during Danish winters) to the surprisingly good water pressure in the shower. The Wi-Fi works reliably throughout, and there’s enough storage space that you can actually unpack and settle in properly. Small touches like quality linens and blackout curtains show they’ve thought about what travelers actually need for a good night’s sleep.
Why Guests Love It
Recent guests consistently rate this place nearly perfect for location, and after staying here, that makes complete sense. You get the best of both worlds — the independence and space of having your own apartment, plus you’re positioned perfectly to explore Copenhagen on foot. The neighborhood feels authentically Danish rather than like a tourist bubble, but you’re still close enough to all the major sights that you won’t waste time on transportation. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about having your own little Copenhagen pied-à-terre, complete with the charm of those narrow staircases and historic details that make Danish architecture so appealing.

Reviews of The Admirals Apartments – Apartments 1 & 2 – Carolinas apartments
Vitor from United Kingdom – 22 March 2025 (8/10)
Fantastic location, just a short walk from the city centre. The apartment is very spacious, and, although the layout is a bit strange, which has been properly communicated, it is very comfortable and well-equipped.
What could be improved: The apartment was clean in general. However, cupboards and wardrobes could use some extra cleaning. The bathroom is a bit cold, but there is an electric heating that makes it ok, you just need to turn it on some time before shower.Vladyslav from Germany – 6 January 2025 (9/10)
Great location, friendly and caring host and atmospheric place!

What could be improved: Foto’s slightly deviate for reality: curtains, lampsGlenna from United States – 10 November 2024 (7/10)
Location and very comfortable
What could be improved: You can only get to the bathroom and kitchen by going through one of the bedrooms which isn’t clear when you book. Fortunately we were with good friends so it was OK but for many travelers this would not be a good set upNeil from United Kingdom – 4 October 2024 (8/10)
Very central, clean, comfortable, and spacious. Good facilities. Highly recommended for a family
Seda from Turkey – 29 September 2024 (9/10)
The house is located right in the heart of the city, within walking distance to everywhere, and has a great location. The street where the apartment is situated is quiet, with no noise. It’s very secure, and we stayed safely as three girl friends. The apartment is spacious and can comfortably accommodate four people. The kitchen has all the equipment you might need. However, the room with the washing machine was locked and we couldn’t access it, and the bathroom definitely needs renovation. There is a curtain in the shower area, and the drain does not work properly. A new drainage system and a shower cabin are a must for such an apartment.

Beautifully decorated. Spacious.
excellent comfy beds, felt very clean
Plenty of towels
Location for city exploring was excellent.
What could be improved: An extra en-suite or toilet would be even better.דוד from Israel – 4 September 2024 (9/10)
the host was very responsive and helped with anything we needed
Peyush from India – 26 July 2024 (9/10)
Apartment was big and spacious including rooms, kitchen, living room and bathroom too. Location was absolutely excellent – close to nayhavn, shopping, restaurants, Tivoli garden and more. We stayed on ground floor which was very convenient, especially for people with luggage. Owners are professional, respond quickly and resolve problems. We wanted a fan and they got us one which was a saviour.
What could be improved: One room mattress is not a full mattress so not best for people staying in the second room. Bathroom is attached to the second room, so all need to go through that. Small renovation is needed in apartment : doors, nails, etc.Manuel from Portugal – 6 January 2024 (9/10)
