The Huxley Copenhagen, BW Premier Collection Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to The Huxley Copenhagen, BW Premier Collection on Peder Skrams Gade, you immediately get that “this is going to be good” feeling. The building has this sophisticated Danish design thing going on — clean lines but warm somehow, you know? It’s tucked into a quiet street that feels authentically Copenhagen without being touristy, which honestly surprised me given how central everything is. The lobby strikes that perfect balance between modern and cozy that Scandinavian hotels do so well.

The Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about this location — you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Nyhavn’s colorful houses and the harbor, but you’re not dealing with the crowds right outside your door. The street itself is lined with those beautiful Copenhagen buildings, and there’s something really peaceful about it in the evenings. I mean, you can walk to Strøget for shopping or catch the metro at Kongens Nytorv without any hassle. What really sold me though was discovering that little bakery around the corner — locals were lining up there every morning, which is always a good sign.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had that Danish hygge thing down perfectly — lots of natural light, clean lines, and surprisingly spacious for a European city hotel. The bed was actually comfortable (not always a given, let’s be honest), and I appreciated the little touches like proper blackout curtains and a coffee setup that didn’t feel like an afterthought. The bathroom was modern and well-designed, though not huge — but honestly, when you’re exploring Copenhagen all day, you’re not spending much time in there anyway.

Dining and Amenities

The restaurant downstairs serves solid Nordic-inspired dishes — nothing groundbreaking, but well-executed and using good local ingredients. Breakfast was better than I expected for a four-star place, with proper Danish pastries and strong coffee. What I really appreciated was the staff’s local knowledge — they pointed me toward some great spots that weren’t in my guidebook. There’s also a small fitness area if you need to work off all that Danish food, though I found walking around the city was exercise enough.

Why Guests Love It

You know what makes this place work? It feels authentically Copenhagen without trying too hard. The location really is exceptional — close enough to everything you want to see, but on a street where you can actually hear yourself think. Couples seem to particularly love it here, and I can see why — there’s something romantic about those quiet evening walks along the nearby canals. The service hits that sweet spot of being helpful without being intrusive, and the whole experience feels more personal than what you’d get at a big chain hotel. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying in the real Copenhagen, not just visiting it.

Copenhagen’s hotels pair greenhouse lounges, cargo bike rentals, and concierge-led tastings through Torvehallerne.

  • Madlena from Bulgaria – 3 April 2025 (9/10)

The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable and appropriate size.
The location is really great, very close to Nyhavn, on a quiet street.
The breakfast is tasty and the staff at the restaurant were friendly and helpful.

What could be improved: One disadvantage I may outline is the glass door of the bathroom (frosted glass) which in a case of sharing the room with a friend is a bit challenging.
There was no balcony of the room.

  • Elysia from United Kingdom – 2 April 2025 (9/10)

A lovely, clean hotel. We had an early flight, so weren’t expecting to be able to check in until 3pm, however our room was ready and we are able to settle in. The hotel is in a prime location, with walking distance to Nyhavn and other attractions like Amalienborg Palace and Christiansborg Palace. Kind and accommodating staff. If I were to return to Copenhagen, I would definitely stay here again.

  • Katie from United Kingdom – 1 April 2025 (9/10)

    Nothing

    What could be improved: Nothing.

The hotel was everything it was advertised to be. Lovely clean room in basically the centre of Copenhagen right next to Nyhvan. Easy to communicate with staff, easy access to room bed was nice, it was warm, bathroom was clean.

What could be improved: nothing to improve

  • Rachel from United Kingdom – 21 March 2025 (9/10)

We enjoyed our stay, Copenhagen is a lovely city. Location of the hotel was great and the staff were so personable.

What could be improved: The pillows – sorry very soft but that is just my preference!

  • Alex from United Kingdom – 17 March 2025 (9/10)

Great Parking, very helpful staff and best value for money in the city and a super clean room! Would definitely stay again

What could be improved: Noise in the morning from the cupboard directly opposite the room, though we appreciate that access is needed to get things sorted!
