Tivoli Hotel Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Tivoli Hotel on Arni Magnussons Gade, you immediately get that “this is exactly where I want to be” feeling. The four-star property sits perfectly in Vesterbro — honestly, one of Copenhagen’s most vibrant neighborhoods that somehow manages to feel both trendy and authentically Danish. I mean, you’re literally steps away from the famous Tivoli Gardens (hence the name, obviously), but what really struck me was how the hotel doesn’t try too hard to capitalize on that connection. It just quietly does its own thing really well.

The Vesterbro Advantage

Here’s what I love about staying in this part of Copenhagen — you’re close enough to walk to the main train station and city center, but far enough from the tourist chaos to actually breathe. Vesterbro has this incredible mix of cozy cafes, craft beer spots, and those little Danish design shops that you’ll spend way too much money in. The couples who rate this location so highly (8.4 out of 10, which is pretty impressive) probably figured out what I did — you can stroll to Tivoli Gardens for the evening, then come back to a neighborhood that feels like real Copenhagen. Plus, there’s parking at the hotel, which anyone who’s tried to navigate Copenhagen by car will tell you is worth its weight in gold.

Room Experience

The rooms at Tivoli Hotel strike that perfect balance between Scandinavian minimalism and actual comfort. You know how some Nordic design can feel a bit cold? Well, this doesn’t have that problem. The spaces feel thoughtfully designed without being sterile — clean lines, quality materials, and those little touches that show someone actually thought about how real people use hotel rooms. The beds are genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and the bathrooms are modern without being flashy. What really impressed me was the attention to lighting — both natural and artificial — which makes a huge difference during those short Danish winter days.

Breakfast Worth Waking Up For

I’ll be honest — hotel breakfast buffets usually leave me reaching for the nearest coffee shop instead. But Tivoli Hotel actually gets it right. They’ve got everything from continental basics to full English breakfast, plus solid vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options that don’t feel like afterthoughts. The quality is consistently good, and there’s something satisfying about starting your Copenhagen exploration with a proper meal. I found myself looking forward to breakfast here, which doesn’t happen often when I’m traveling.

Why Guests Love It

That 8.4 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen — it reflects what you actually experience here. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work, the location gives you the best of Copenhagen without the tourist trap feeling, and the whole place just operates smoothly. It’s not trying to be the flashiest hotel in the city, but it delivers on the things that actually matter when you’re exploring a place like Copenhagen. You’ll spend your days wandering the city and your evenings glad you chose somewhere that feels like a proper home base rather than just a place to sleep.

Apartments in Copenhagen suit digital nomads with modular interiors, balcony herb gardens, and third-wave espresso downstairs.

Reviews of Tivoli Hotel

  • Angela from United Kingdom – 16 April 2025 (9/10)

The pool was excellent. The hotel was very nice and rooms just what we wanted. The breakfast was superb

What could be improved: Price of dinner. Didn’t rate it too highly and choice was poor

  • Sarah from United Kingdom – 12 April 2025 (9/10)

Nice executive lounge offering free drinks and food throughout the day

What could be improved: Pool was cool and needed a jacuzzi in the area

  • James from United Kingdom – 6 April 2025 (8/10)

    Nice rooms and good amenities.

What could be improved: Terrible pillows and blocked shower.

  • Tammy from United States – 4 April 2025 (9/10)

The hotel was in a fantastic location, and the included breakfast was wonderful. The best meal of my trip was in the hotel restaurant. It was also a pickup and drop-off location for the hop on hop off buses..

What could be improved: At times, the restaurant staff seemed inattentive during dinner service. Others around me were asked if they needed anything while I was left just sitting there.

  • Abdulrahman from Saudi Arabia – 2 April 2025 (8/10)

  • Lucy from United Kingdom – 25 March 2025 (8/10)

    The facilities were lovely

  • Jayne from United Kingdom – 17 March 2025 (9/10)

The swimming pool and roof bar.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Sertaç from Turkey – 12 March 2025 (9/10)

The rooms are spacious and clean. For me, it was decorated too extravagantly, it could have been simpler, but that's a choice.

The location is quite good, within walking distance to many important points. If you don't want to walk, there are dozens of bicycles in front of the hotel that you can rent.

There's nothing to say about the breakfast, it was complete and perfect. There is even a small buffet available for vegans.

  • Sheeva from United Kingdom – 10 March 2025 (9/10)

The location, it was clean and beautiful place to stay

What could be improved: The pool was far too cold to relax
