You know what really struck me about this place? The location is absolutely spot-on. Pilestraede sits right in the heart of Copenhagen, and I mean you can walk to pretty much everything that matters. Strøget shopping street is literally around the corner, and you’re maybe ten minutes on foot to Nyhavn with all those colorful houses everyone photographs. The couples who stay here clearly get it — there’s something romantic about being able to wander through the old city streets without needing to figure out public transport every time you want to grab dinner. You’re positioned perfectly for exploring the city’s best neighborhoods on foot.

The Room Experience

My room had this clever mix of Scandinavian minimalism and unexpected touches that kept things interesting. The bed was properly comfortable (which isn’t always a given in boutique hotels), and the bathroom actually had decent water pressure — small things that matter when you’re exploring the city all day. What I appreciated most was how they managed to make a relatively compact space feel open and functional without cramming in unnecessary furniture. Each detail was thoughtfully considered for guest comfort.

Breakfast & Dining

The breakfast buffet here is honestly better than it needs to be. I mean, you get your standard Danish pastries and coffee, but they also throw in some local specialties that you might not encounter elsewhere. The restaurant area has this relaxed atmosphere where you can actually linger over your morning coffee without feeling rushed. They seem to understand that breakfast is part of the Copenhagen experience, not just fuel for sightseeing. The quality of ingredients and presentation elevates the entire morning experience.

After spending a few days here, I totally understand why this place gets such high ratings. It’s that rare hotel that manages to capture the spirit of Copenhagen — creative, unpretentious, but still polished where it counts.   What could be improved: No Twin Bed? Small Bed

  Wide variety at breakfast would suit all tastes and wide opening hours made things very easy. The in-house restaurant Nani is well worth trying. Location is really central and easy to arrive at by Metro from the airport
  
  What could be improved: Can be a bit noisy out at the front of the hotel if you are in a room facing the church as there is a silent disco next door – obviously there is no music coming out of it but there are people having a smoke or leaving the premises later on. Probably best to ask for a room at the back if it’s a weekend – Sunday night was very quiet so it’s just a Friday/Saturday issue really.
  Overall the rooms are really good and the bar area is very original and comfortable

  Great and central location in the middle of the city. I really appreciated the free minibar and the free refill was super generous. The bed was super comfortable and the room was very clean. What I still missed was a coffee machine in the room. Except for that, everything was perfectly fine.

  Incredible property and great location for a city trip in Copenhagen. Staff are all very friendly and helpful! Really loved the attention to detail here with a free mini bar, information about things to do, a running station and running guide. The property is stunning and extremely cozy!

  Loved the design and decor of the hotel – interesting and colourful, with lots of good communal spaces. Very convenient location. Great room that was super spacious, clean and comfortable.

  For me, this is the best hotel in Copenhagen and the only place I would stay in Copenhagen. The vide is incredible and the staff are amazing – so enthusiastic, especially if you are looking for recommendations for places to go to visit and to eat! Incredible location too, right in the heart of the city centre and easy to get to the Metro station to explore the city or to get to the airport.
