Hypernym Hotel & Suites Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Hypernym Hotel & Suites on Studiestræde, you immediately get that “I made the right choice” feeling. The four-star property sits perfectly in Copenhagen’s Latin Quarter, and honestly, the location alone justifies the stay. There’s something refreshing about a hotel that doesn’t try too hard — the entrance is understated but polished, and you can tell right away that this place knows what it’s doing.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about staying here: you’re literally in the heart of everything that matters in Copenhagen, but tucked away on a quieter street that actually lets you sleep at night. Studiestræde puts you within easy walking distance of Strøget (the main pedestrian shopping street), and you can reach the colorful buildings of Nyhavn in about ten minutes on foot. The Latin Quarter buzzes with cafes, bookshops, and that distinctly Danish blend of historic charm and modern living. I mean, couples rate this location 9.6 out of 10 for good reason — there’s something romantic about wandering these cobblestone streets together, especially in the evening when the old buildings glow under the streetlights.

The Rooms & Comfort

The suites at Hypernym Hotel & Suites actually feel like suites, not just regular rooms with a fancy name slapped on them. You get proper space to spread out, which is refreshing after dealing with those shoebox-sized European hotel rooms elsewhere. The design strikes that perfect Scandinavian balance — clean lines and natural materials without feeling cold or sterile. What really impressed me was the attention to practical details: good lighting for reading, plenty of outlets where you actually need them, and blackout curtains that work (trust me, this matters during Copenhagen’s bright summer nights).

Breakfast & Dining

The breakfast setup here is honestly better than it needs to be. They’ve got the full continental spread, but what sets it apart is the quality — fresh Danish pastries, proper coffee, and they actually accommodate gluten-free needs without making it feel like an afterthought. The buffet doesn’t overwhelm you with endless mediocre options; instead, they focus on doing fewer things really well. You know what I appreciate? They understand that breakfast can make or break your entire day of sightseeing, so they get you properly fueled without the usual hotel dining room stuffiness.

Why Guests Love It

With an 8.9 rating, Hypernym Hotel & Suites clearly gets the fundamentals right, but it’s the thoughtful extras that keep people coming back. Having private parking in central Copenhagen is practically a miracle — most hotels here will send you to some distant lot and wish you luck. The staff seems to genuinely understand the city and can point you toward experiences beyond the typical tourist checklist. It’s one of those places where everything just works smoothly, from check-in to checkout, without any of those little frustrations that can derail a trip. For couples especially, this hotel creates the perfect home base for exploring Copenhagen’s romantic side while ensuring you have a refined, comfortable retreat to return to each evening.

What a fabulous hotel. Great location. The room was fantastic. Staff helpful and friendly

  • Amanda from United Kingdom – 2 April 2025 (9/10)

Excellent location in the heart of Copenhagen. Very comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and nice to have a bit more room although we didn’t make use of the kitchen facilities. Unfortunately our view was looking at the rear of the Cirkus and a noisy aircon unit but it was fine with the window closed. The staff were all lovely and very helpful. Great cocktail bar!

  • Shankh from Germany – 16 March 2025 (9/10)

The staff was super nice and hospitable at the hotel. The location was also super conveninent for someone visiting the city for the first time and super central.

  • Chung from United Kingdom – 14 February 2025 (8/10)

What could be improved: price a bit high

  • Henning from United States – 12 February 2025 (9/10)

Clean, quiet and centrally located – and a very spacious apartment.

    What could be improved: N/A

  • Marilyn from Australia – 21 January 2025 (9/10)

Our studio was very comfortable and had what we needed for a 5 night (extended from 3) stay. Kitchen well equipped and bathroom though small had a touch of luxury. Breakfast was delicious. Hotel is stylish and very central with easy walking access to centre of city, restaurants, cafes, shopping, sights, tours, transport. Highly recommend staying here

What could be improved: The only issue was the front loader washing machine had mould inside (around the door seal), and our first load of clothes was contaminated for multiple washes later. Suggest cleaning regularly and keeping door ajar.

    Good size rooms.
