First Impressions

Walking up to the fifth floor of this converted building on Arkonagade, I’ll be honest — I wasn’t sure what to expect from Penthouse in the heart of the City. But stepping inside, you immediately get why this four-star spot earned a perfect 10 rating. The space feels genuinely penthouse-like, with those high ceilings and windows that actually frame Copenhagen rather than just peek at it. It’s one of those places where the name isn’t just marketing fluff, you know?

Location & Neighborhood

Vesterbro is honestly one of my favorite parts of Copenhagen, and this address puts you right in the sweet spot. You’re close enough to the action but far enough from the tourist crowds that clog up Nyhavn. The Meatpacking District is basically around the corner — perfect for dinner without having to trek across the city. I mean, couples rate this place incredibly highly (which makes total sense), and I think it’s partly because you can actually walk to romantic spots without planning your whole evening around transportation.

The Space

What struck me most was how the apartment actually feels like someone’s stylish home rather than a hotel room with a kitchenette thrown in. The layout flows naturally, and there’s real attention to detail in the furnishings — not that generic Scandinavian minimalism you see everywhere, but pieces that feel chosen rather than ordered in bulk. The kitchen is properly equipped too, which matters if you want to grab ingredients from Torvehallerne and actually cook something decent. The bedroom gets great natural light, and honestly, waking up with those city views never got old during my stay.

What Makes It Special

Recent guests rated the location 9.4 out of 10, and after spending time here, that number makes complete sense. You’re positioned perfectly for exploring different neighborhoods — Frederiksberg Gardens for a morning walk, the Lakes for an afternoon stroll, or just wandering the local streets where you’ll find those little cafes that don’t make it into guidebooks. The building itself has character without being quirky for the sake of it, and there’s something satisfying about having your own entrance rather than navigating hotel lobbies and key cards.

  Nice apartment. The neighbourhood have kiosks and some bars close by. The nearest shoppingcenter is about 15 min walk. They have a wastestation down in the backyard of the building. Good wifi.
  
  What could be improved: Very long stairs up to the apartment. Be aware of birds on the rooftop terrace they raided my snacks when l left them up there, to pick something up downstairs. My own fault ofcourse birds will be birds.

  Great, cozy, stylish very well equipped top floor flat with great roof terrace and rooftop views. Location is quiet, residential and a home from home with the locals. Restaurants, bars and cafes scattered all around and nearby in walking distance. Easy access everywhere. Live like a Dane and remember there’s no elevator, great built in stair master – weight lifting equipment in master bedroom for added fitness while asleep….Would love to return in summer and use the massive roof top terrace but great open plan/spacious indoors for winter also. Very safe flat and location for single female traveller also.

  I cannot say enough good things about our stay here. The apartment was clean, it had every amenity that we needed, the location was great and we felt safe. The host was responsive to every question and request we had. Whenever we did reach out to him he responded within a few minutes and provided us with great information to enhance our stay. His superior service made our trip even better. I will definitely stay at this apartment again on future trips to Copenhagen. We could not be happier that we selected this location/host.
  
  What could be improved: The ONLY negative is the lack of an elevator. There are 95 steps from the building entrance to the apartment. It was not a problem for me and my party but it would make the apartment difficult for elderly guests or those with special needs.
