Ascot Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Ascot Hotel on Studiestræde, you immediately get that “this is exactly what I hoped Copenhagen would feel like” moment. The four-star property sits perfectly in the heart of the city, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering — couples consistently rate it 9.5 out of 10, which tells you something about the romantic appeal of the neighborhood. The building has that understated Danish elegance you see all over the city center, nothing flashy but everything feels intentional and well-maintained.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about staying here — you’re genuinely in the thick of things without feeling overwhelmed by tourist crowds. Studiestræde puts you within easy walking distance of Strøget (Copenhagen’s main shopping street) and the Latin Quarter, but it’s on a quieter side street where you can actually hear yourself think. I mean, you can walk to Tivoli Gardens in about ten minutes, and the colorful houses of Nyhavn are maybe fifteen minutes on foot. The street itself has that lived-in Copenhagen vibe with local cafes and shops mixed in with the tourist spots.
The Rooms
The rooms at Ascot Hotel strike that perfect balance between Danish minimalism and actual comfort — you know how some boutique hotels can feel a bit too stark? Not here. Everything’s clean-lined and thoughtfully designed, but there are enough warm touches that it doesn’t feel cold. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms are modern without being sterile. What really impressed me was the attention to detail — proper blackout curtains, decent lighting for reading, and enough outlets in sensible places.
Breakfast & Amenities
The breakfast setup is actually quite good — they do a proper continental spread with both buffet options and gluten-free choices, which covers most dietary needs without making a big fuss about it. The coffee’s solid (important in a city known for its cafe culture), and there’s enough variety that you won’t get bored if you’re staying several days. One thing that’s genuinely helpful — they have private parking at the hotel, which is honestly a bit of a miracle in central Copenhagen where parking can be a nightmare.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back to this place is that it gets the fundamentals right without trying too hard to be trendy. The staff actually knows the neighborhood and can point you toward good local spots (not just the obvious tourist attractions), and the whole operation runs smoothly without feeling overly formal. You’re paying for that prime location and reliable comfort, and honestly, in a city like Copenhagen where hotel prices can get pretty steep, the Ascot Hotel delivers solid value. It’s the kind of place where you spend your time exploring the city rather than hanging around the hotel — which is exactly what you want when you’re in Copenhagen.
Hotel in Copenhagen reservations spike before Distortion festival, so revelers lock in loft suites early.

Loved the hotel and I got a good deal. Only downside is it’s a little away from the main hub of the city, walkable though.
Jukka-pekka from Finland – 9 April 2025 (9/10)
Great hotel with nice room and comfortable beds. Good location with main station and central attractions
Heulwen from United Kingdom – 6 April 2025 (9/10)
Room quiet,Very comfortable bed, lovely idea to have separate single quilts, also nice to be able to open windows wide for fresh air. Great to have decent mirrors in bathroom too.
If you like English tea take your own teabags as they only seem to put coffee with dry milk satchets. I actually bought milk as there's a good fridge in room. Did not have breakfast as too expensive. Great location for all attractions. Staff very helpful too. Would stay here again.Natalija from Ireland – 2 April 2025 (9/10)

Gabriel from United Kingdom – 26 March 2025 (8/10)
Great location. Beautiful interiors.
What could be improved: Building work taking place opposite which started at 7am.Archie from United Kingdom – 25 March 2025 (8/10)
The hotel is in an excellent position and close to the metro and other attractions.
The room on the ground floor was really big and comfortable and had every amenity we needed.
What could be improved: There was construction going on outside on the building opposite. Nothing was said to us in advance.
The builders started at about 7am every morning. (6am uk time!!)
We were in one of the rooms below the breakfast hall and it was noisy with chairs being moved across the floor from about 7:30am onwards.
There is no restaurant in the hotel…. No food available apart from a continental breakfast.
