Scandic Falkoner Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Scandic Falkoner on Falkoner Alle, you immediately get that “this feels right” vibe. It’s one of those four-star places that doesn’t try too hard — the building has this understated Scandinavian elegance that fits perfectly in Copenhagen‘s Frederiksberg district. I mean, you’re literally surrounded by tree-lined streets and that distinctly Danish sense of hygiene (in the best possible way). The lobby strikes that sweet spot between modern and cozy, which honestly sets the tone for everything else.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re in Frederiksberg, which feels like Copenhagen’s sophisticated older sibling. You know what’s great? You can walk to Frederiksberg Gardens in about five minutes, and trust me, that’s where locals go to escape the tourist crowds. The metro connection is solid too, so getting into the city center takes maybe 15 minutes. Couples seem to really get this location (they rate it 9.2, which is pretty impressive), and I can see why — it’s got that residential charm but you’re not stuck in the middle of nowhere.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from Scandic — clean lines, functional design, and everything actually works. The beds are proper comfortable, not just hotel-comfortable, and there’s enough space to spread out without feeling like you’re camping. What struck me was the attention to small details — good lighting for reading, decent WiFi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and windows that actually open (you’d be surprised how rare that is). The bathroom was spotless with that Nordic minimalism that somehow makes everything feel more expensive than it probably is.

Breakfast Worth Waking Up For

Honestly, the breakfast here surprised me in the best way. They’ve got this buffet setup that covers all the bases — continental classics, but also proper vegetarian and vegan options that don’t feel like afterthoughts. The gluten-free selection was actually thoughtful too, not just sad-looking bread substitutes. I found myself going back for the local cheeses and that really good Danish rye bread. It’s the kind of breakfast that sets you up properly for a day of walking around Copenhagen, you know?

Why Guests Love It

What really sells this place is how it handles the practical stuff without making a big deal about it. There’s parking right at the hotel, which anyone who’s driven in Copenhagen will tell you is basically gold. The restaurant serves decent food when you can’t be bothered to venture out, and the staff genuinely seem to know the neighborhood — they’ll point you toward the good coffee shops and away from the tourist traps. It’s that rare hotel that feels like it’s run by people who actually live in the city and want you to experience it properly, not just survive your stay.

Exploring Copenhagen blends royal palaces, cycling culture, waterfront saunas, and hygge cafés glowing with candlelight.

Reviews of Scandic Falkoner

  • Pauline from Sweden – 6 April 2025 (9/10)

Went for a stand-up show at Falkoner Salen. Very comfortable to have the hotel, restaurant and "theatre" in the same building. We barely needed to leave the hotel, but once we did, there were nice options close by as well. Breakfast was generous as well as its opening hours, the whole hotel had a very nice vibe and show-theme and we liked that the checkout time was at 12 instead of 11. Location was superb and superclose to the metro.

What could be improved: The bathroom had a weird sewer smell, but it might have been a temporary problem. Also, we had to wait pretty long when checking in and out due to the long lines. But all in all, tiny issues 🙂

  • Kurt80 from Germany – 1 April 2025 (9/10)

The best staff you can find probably in any hotel in the area. I am surprised on how friendly, diligent and professional they were. Hotel is an excellent area, have prices that reflect the local reality. Great experience.

What could be improved: No minibar available to cool my water bottles.

  • Antonella from Italy – 19 March 2025 (9/10)

    Breakfast and services are perfect

  • Tom from Belgium – 10 March 2025 (8/10)

What could be improved: Room was a little warm but opened the window overnight.

  • Lauren from United Kingdom – 24 February 2025 (8/10)

The hotel was in a good location in frederiksberg, close to good cafes, some good restaurants and a 7/11. An hours walk from the centre but good transport options to the airport and to the centre – like the metro which comes every few minutes. We were on the top floor so we had a great view of the city, the room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and professional.

What could be improved: The shower tends to spray onto the bathroom floor and sides.

  • Svend from Denmark – 24 February 2025 (8/10)

Great location close to Metro. Nice with parking in basement

What could be improved: Check-in at 16.00 unless you pay extra even that the room was ready when we arrived.

  • Deirdre from Ireland – 17 February 2025 (9/10)

Lovely hotel and staff. Breakfast was excellent with many choices.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Ia from Finland – 16 February 2025 (9/10)

The hotel's location is good and it is close to a metro station.

There were also nice cafés, bakeries, and restaurants close by.

Having a great gym at the hotel was a nice bonus.

The breakfast was fresh and tasty and the breakfast room accommodated a lot of people.

What could be improved: The wall-to-wall carpet in the room was not very clean.

I guess breakfast can be considered very generous if one eats meat. There were also plenty of options for vegetarians. For vegans, however, the options were quite limited. I stayed for five nights, and the breakfast remained the same every day. There were no variations. Maybe some small changes could be applied every now and then?

The hotel tries to be greener and does not change towels and take out trash from the room every day. This is a good thing! However, if staying longer than two nights, the trash bin in the room is way too small.

The soap, shampoo, and condition dispensers in my room were already empty when checking in. However, the staff fill the dispensers and change towels if asked one day before.

  • Branislav from Slovakia – 4 February 2025 (9/10)

Great location, near the metro. Amazing breakfast with a lot of various stuff. Very friendly and helpful staff. Cozy room.

What could be improved: Instead of king bed, there were 2 beds that didn't hold together. It was also a bit cold too with no option to set up the temperature. But we asked for a room with a bath and got it for no extra change, which was nice to warm up after spending a day in the cold weather. Also it was impossible to connect the phone to the TV via their own instructions and connecting hdmi was also almost impossible (I got it to work but it was a real pain)

  • Kirke from Estonia – 19 December 2024 (8/10)

Location is perfect, very short distance to metro! The property was clean and cozy. The view from the 15th floor room was great!

What could be improved: Everything was OK! Salmon and pancakes could be added to the breakfast menu.
